This semester course is taught in English and aims to explore the cultures, societies and history of Latin American countries, analyzing a series of topics covering culture, politics, religion and society, among others. The focus of the course is a comparative and contrastive study of different aspects that characterize the region. From pre-Columbian times to contemporary times, relevant aspects are reviewed to understand the current situation of the region, so that by the end of the semester, students will improve their intercultural competence and have a better understanding of the issues affecting Latin America.
