Virtual Intercampus Program AUSJAL PIVA

Programas de Intercambio Virtual UAH

PIVA (AUSJAL Virtual Exchange Program) is an academic and virtual program developed by the universities affiliated to the AUSJAL network (Association of Jesuit Universities of Latin America). Its main objective is to promote student exchange through virtual courses, giving students and professors the opportunity to interact with different realities and cultures.

UAH, a Jesuit university in Chile located in the center of Santiago, Chile, has excelled in the development of education, social sciences and humanities. The exchange program is designed to allow foreign students to fully integrate into university life, sharing experiences with Chilean students.

Most of the AUSJAL member universities participate in PIVA, as well as the University of Deusto (Spain). You can check the course offerings at this link.

There are two modalities of elective courses of General or Theological Formation within PIVA:

  • Online Modality (MO)- Asynchronous Course: These courses are designed and planned following instructional design methodologies to be delivered entirely at a distance. The focus is on asynchronous work, which means that students can participate and perform the activities in their own time, under the guidance and supervision of a tutor.
  • Remote Presence Modality – Synchronous courses: These courses are part of the regular academic curriculum of universities and are normally offered face-to-face. However, they have been adapted to be taught at a distance through the use of information and communication technologies (ICT). In this modality, synchronous work is promoted, which implies that a schedule is established for interactive activities and classes with students.
  • All professors and students of AUSJAL universities (Jesuit universities in Latin America) are invited to participate. Each institution may set conditions and criteria for participation.
  • There is no language requirement, however, in the event that there are courses that are taught or use material in other languages, the student must be proficient enough to participate.
  • You can apply for courses from various universities in the Network. As always, your university decides what is relevant.
  • Each university, in conjunction with the professor, decides the number of places it will allocate to the program.
